When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.
Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement.
To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles.

Stretching refers to the process of elongation and it should be included in every athlete's daily routine. Unfortunately, it seldom is.
Stretching involves increasing the elasticity of soft tissue such as muscle and tendons, and creating a bigger range of motion in the joints. When we stretch
safely we do so in our normal range of motion to prevent damage to the tissue of the ligaments, what can lead to hypermobility of the joints and a tendency toward injury.
